Stanford Computer Forum And CS Industry Affiliates Annual Meeting
Event Details:
SDSI, AI Safety, SAIL, and Stanford Computer Forum Virtual Annual Meeting
Advances in Big Data, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning and Natural Language Processing
August 11 - 13, 2020
The three-day co-hosted event will present opportunities for our industrial partners to hear about the latest developments in timely and critical areas of technology. We look forward to sharing new faculty research and advances in big data, machine learning, reinforcement learning and natural language processing. This year we welcome a number of new faculty members from Stanford’s Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Departments. New faculty will discuss their research in optimization, computer vision, natural language processing, graphics, advanced architectures for machine learning, energy-efficient and high-performance systems, programming systems for sparse computing applications, design and analysis of algorithms, and more! We are also excited to open our sessions on Algorithms and Applications in Data Science and AI and AI Safety to all of our programs. As the promise of machine learning continues to grow we are faced with challenges of bias, value, representation and security. We are also continually challenged by the need for generalizability, transferability, and safety assurances for implementation in real-time, safety-critical applications. We have assembled an agenda of Stanford experts on these topics to present their research as well as participate in interactive panel discussions.
